Third book in a three book series. Third Time's a Charm focus' on Tori Sanderson, the youngest of the three sisters featured throughout the series. Tori is beautiful, smart and funny. She's also over worked and frustrated. Will a good man come along and help her through life's stresses? I highly recommend the book so you can find out and see! The entire series is so much fun... I suggest starting with the first book (Stuck in the Middle), followed by the second book (Age before Beauty), so you can get a full orbed view of each sister's personalities, however, this book does quiet well as a stand alone read if you don't want to get into a series. Virginia Smith does a great job of brining the characters back to life in this, Book three of the Sister to Sister series!Tags : Third Time's a Charm: A Novel (Sister-to-Sister) [Virginia Smith] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Third Time a Charm A Novel SistertoSister Virginia Smith 9780800732349 Books Reviews
Ok, I feel in love with "Stuck in the Middle", then with "Age Before Beauty" I felt mmmm, happily married, but that the honeymoon was over. Well, "Third Time's a Charm" DEFINITELY brought the fireworks back!!!! It's the last book of the series and you will MISS the Sanderson sisters and the happenings of their lives (Grams and Sunday dinner included). I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book. It deals with the real life effects of emotional scars and childhood trauma. A MUST READ!!!! I love that the books in the series have "classic" and "clean" story lines with "hip" details. Like, good ole' fashioned Sunday dinner, but True Religion jeans. Love it!!!
These books are enjoyable light reading. The plot is similar in all 3 books but because I felt connected to the characters, I didn't mind. So it is predictable but entertaining. The first two books developed the characters more and it's that loyalty and curiosity that propels you. This one I superficial but so is the main character. If you have read the first two, I would read this one for completion. If you haven't read the first two, don't start here - you will likely be disappointed.
I am more than half way through this third book in the Sister series by Virginia Smith and am equally as pleased as I
was with the first two. Even those these books can be read out of sequence and still make sense, I recommend reading them in order...there are three....but that's the way I like to read a series. Written by a Christian author it is a pleasure to read as were the other two. Three girls in the family and each book follows a sister...book number one is about sister number two, the second is about the older of the three and this one is about the baby. They are all in their twenties.
I did not like the conclusion of this book. She was pretty shallow in many ways and I still was left wondering how the couple was going to make it because of the vast difference in their money spending. A lady who spends a ton of money on jeans isn't going to "suddenly" change. I found myself saying "They won't make it.". I did however like how her job situation was resolved. Her sisters were funny and I could see that the author is drawing from a close family background.
I read the first two books in this series and had an inkling that Ryan would be Tori's match when I first read about him in the last book....Tori's story was very cute and interesting, I felt deeply the differences between each sister and the feelings they each had about their father....all so different yet the same as they each craved a father's love. Which they each found in God. The story ended perfectly with Ken and Joan's wedding, as the series began with them. I would have enjoyed an epilogue though, or at least an ending where Ryan and Tori are engaged, however it is implied. Maybe we can convince Virginia Smith to write something about Chelsea later in! Lol..
I have read all the books in this series and it is the best one by far! I loved all of the books, although this one has a fast pace and an unlikely romance that blossoms by the end of the book. It has a sweet romance plot but also deals with issues of work coming between family, friends, and God. The book also focusses on the sisters' relationship with their father and compels the main character, Tori, to search for her father. The book does not focus on Tori finding God as much as the second or first book did for the other sisters, although it still keeps a divine connection, helping the sisters to find their heavenly Father. Overall a very good ending to the Sister-to-Sister series! It would be very interesting to read about some of the sisters' problems with their marriages, kids, faith, and such when they are little older.
It's Tori's turn for love as the last single Sanderson sister. I have to say that I didn't expect to like Tori as much as I did, but hearing her voice through her POV made me adjust my view of her. She has a huge hurt heart and I loved this story for her. Her love interest is Ryan and I think he's my favorite hero in the series. He honest, sweet, a little shy, but confident. Between Tori and Ryan I'm impressed with this author's ability to write charm into a character. I loved watching Ryan catch Tori's interest. The classic country boy and city girl was a sweet story. And as sweet as the love story was, I really felt for Tori and her search for her father who abandoned their family when she was 9 just as much. The interesting thing is that it didn't wrap up the story in a neat little bow. There are still unanswered questions, and relationships that may never be perfect but I felt like it ended well. Something I've grown to like in Virginia Smith's books are that they are true to life in so many ways and life is a little messy an imperfect. I recommend this book and this series.
